The Keystone XL pipeline project will ensure energy security, job creation and stimulate the economy. Keystone XL is a critical energy infrastructure project.
Is the Keystone XL pipline a good idea for the United States? You may have to read a bit about it to make a decission.

The Keystone XL pipline is a good idea for the United States because U.S. crude oil production has been growing significantly in states such as Oklahoma, Texas, North Dakota and Montana to the extent that producers do not have access to enough pipeline capacity to move this production to markets. The Gulf Coast Project will address this need by connecting crude oil storage facilities at Cushing, Oklahoma with the U.S. Gulf Coast. This will increase refineries' access to domestic oil.
ReplyDeleteI think that the benefits of the Keystone XL Pipeline far outweigh the potential risks. These benefits include the development of many new jobs and the spending of large quantities of money from the private sector in the American economy, both of which will assist in recovering from the recession. Another great advantage is that it will serve to decrease America's dependence on foreign oil, an issue that has plagued this country for a number of years and which is becoming quite a concern amidst the current fragile situation with Iran. The main drawback in the creation of this project is the ecological concerns over a potential oil spill, but this is something that is inherent to the completion of any oil infrastructure project. I think that as long as it is determined that the project falls within the limits of risk and safety as other already completed projects, it should definitely be given the governmental permission to be built.
ReplyDeleteDear Ms. HC,
I am sorry for the delay in my blog posts. I got sick the week that I was supposed to watch the stock and I lost track of the prices. When I got better, I tried looking at graphs online showing the rises and falls of the prices, but I was having a little trouble in figuring the graph out because it was not starting or ending it on the dates I put in for it to show. I will be posting on the other posts as soon as I can. I didn't read very much in my books at the start of the month while I was sick, because I was trying to just rest to get better faster, so I haven't got up to the part about mega-mergers yet. I will try to do this as soon as possible. Again, I am sorry for the delay; when I got better, there was a lot of work I had to catch up on in all my classes.
The Keystone XL pipeline would create 20,000 more jobs, there for triggering a growth in our otherwise failing economy. We would have more efficient energy to power our homes, schools and workplaces. The idea of banning oil use all together and switching to more ecofriendly energy sources is too great a risk and would not work in the condition our economy is in. Maybe it can be done sometime in the future, but not right now.
